Summary:
The Medical Records Clerk provides administrative support for our office according to acceptable policies and procedures that include HHSC guidelines.
This position completes other duties assigned by the Program Associate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
May include, but are not limited to the following:
Compiling, verifying, and sorting information to prepare documents for data entry Assist with retrieval of documents from medical records and the electronic system as requested by the management and executive teams Maintain and update records and databases Perform routine receipt of records, scanning, archiving, and records requests to ensure that medical records and database are up to date Collect and organize clinical records for accuracy as scanning is done daily High attention to detail to review and research documentation for accuracy and completion prior to data entry Ensure new enrollment documentation is received, scanned, and uploaded into the electronic system Serves as a backup for the Program Associate regarding the electronic system Other clerical duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES):
Experience:
3 years of medical records clerk experience required.
At least 1 year of medical software experience required.
Must have previous work experience in a DBMD, TXHML or Class environment.
Must be proficient skilled in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred - Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of medical records processes - Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of electronic health record systems - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team - High level of professionalism and respect for patient privacy Job Type:
